My little Valentine

Sarah felt a lot of L.O.V.E. on Valentine's Day this year! Her preschool class has a party which is always a hoot...lots of entertainment watching 2 year olds. They each had put their Valentines to their classmates in their decorated bags during the day and we are still enjoying the little surprises as we pull a new one out from time to time. Her favorite part was the big heart balloon that each kiddo received from the teachers and her new bee apron! (Busy Bee class) Sending hugs and kisses from Sarah to you!

We are still here! I am sorry I have been delinquent about posting, I have no excuse just forgetful. We have been enjoying watching our little comedian make us laugh daily, watching our house be built and watching Sarah's excitement of this new adventure, and laughing as Sarah turns Dylan into more of a "doll" than dog. Poor guy.

We spent a very relaxing weekend at the Ranch for New Years. I don't know the last time that at nap time EVERYONE in the house ( including all adults) napped for a little while. Wonderful. Nothing better that your major activity for the day being a drive around the Ranch, oh and hunting for "triangles on a adventure with Pappy"....aka Arrowhead hunting. Sarah loved the fireworks, which we did at 7 so she could watch and kept asking for more the next night! Love that place!

Buschman Christmas

We celebrated Christmas a few days early with the Buschman clan up in Georgetown. Pappy came out as Santa Claus( minus the beard at first) to deliver gifts and Sarah, who was ok with it at first tooka turn for the worst! She cried. And cried. Lesson learned. We had a great time opening gifts and enjoying dinner together. I think that Santa said go Frogs.

A very Merry (croupy) Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas once we made it to the Maddoxes in San Antonio. Sarah had come down with a cough a couple days before Christmas and when we went to the doctor they diagnosed her with croup. We had 2 days of trying to get better when the poor girl got much worse and we had to visit the doctor again Christmas Eve morning and ended up with an inhaler and all sorts of meds. I am happy to report that I haven't heard a cough in a couple days now! Whew!

We enjoyed decorating cookies for Santa (the boys seemed to enjoy this the most), playing with music and preparing our plate of carrots for the reindeer and cookies and milk for Santa. Sarah had a great time Christmas morning figuring out that Santa really does leave gifts and all sorts of fun! All of the excitement and fun wore out our tiny little one and we had a rollercoaster of an evening that night. Mom and Dad were fueled by coffee for most of the day after. Sarah loves her new easel, hippity hop, doctor kit and cash register the most! She has been loving playing with her bubbles from her Uncle Ben too!

All presents lately seem to be "Sarah's." It was fun to watch Sarah's class enjoy their lunch ( I made reindeer pb and j's...super cute if i do say so myself), decorate their cookies with icing and sprinkles, play a pass the present game where we all brought a new book to unwrap...and then if her teachers are not generous enough with their time and love....they each got to unwrap a gift especially for them from their teachers. That made Sarah's day! She LOVES her new baby doll!

I got to unwrap with Sarah's help the most precious ornament that she made for me with her hand print turned into five snowmen. Adorable and yes it went immediately on our tree! It was fun, loud, busy and left me with a good napper today.

Wet Wonderland

It was a wet Christmas Stroll this year! The first weekend in December vendors in the city of Georgetown host "The Christmas Stroll" with a wonderful parade, Town of Bethlehem, Who-ville and lots of food and gifts. Sarah LOVES a parade and it didn't matter to her that it was raining this year. Thank you Daddy for being a good sport hanging out in the rain!

Busy Bee Class Christmas Performance

I would love to show you video of the Busy Bee class performance singing Jingle Bells and other precious Jesus songs that you could clearly hear Sarah singing in perfect harmony with her classmates. That will not happen. Sarah, who sings all day and all night at our house, decided that when it came time to sing as a group to do the "drama, throw your head back, make yourself known" cry. This is why she is sporting tears in these pictures! I will try to get some video clips in soon...it is kinda shaky camera action as I was also trying to comfort her and had to turn off the video at times. :)

I am a tad late in posting all the pictures from a fun Thanksgiving in San Antonio/Ranch with the Buschman fam! We had a great time cruising the River on a dinner barge Wednesday night, wonderful food, fam and football on Thanksgiving, and a relaxing end to the week at the Ranch. We loved every minute, especially Miss Sarah at the ranch. Horses, horses, horses. She rode them, she fed them, she hugged them and she misses them. Sarah also is quite the turkey hunter...she has mastered the turkey call and her binocular skills are outstanding. The turkey call goes something like this...."TURKEY!!!!!"

It's been awhile!

I have been so bad about posting pictures or anything for that matter lately! I am sorry! We have been busy with day to day things...school ( which Sarah likes now), errands, projects, the new house and now the holidays! Sarah has been a busy body from the moment she wakes up until it is time to go to bed at night. Whew! Now that Thanksgiving is upon us we have been trying to get her to say "Happy Thanksgiving!" It is not happening. She misses Halloween. Maybe it was all the candy ( certainly not the ghosts, she has developed a small fear). Sarah instead greets us with " Happy Halloween-giving!" in hopes that she receives candy I am assuming. Once she figures it out we are going to be moving on to Christmas!

If she could paint all day she would. We have been enjoying the nice weather outside with paints, chalk and crayons. She had her school's Thanksgiving Feast today and seemed to enjoy it! I was one of the mothers in charge of helping organize our classroom food so being that I was so worried about forgetting my food/decorations, I only brought my phone to take pictures. Way to go, Mom. I have a feeling she will be wearing her Indian headdress again next week. Like mother, like daughter.

Sarah LOVED Halloween! She was dressed as her favorite Wonderpet, Ming Ming Duck, and got the hang of trick or treating pretty quick. We went down to Main Street in Georgetown where the entire neighborhood participates and all the homes are decorated and everyone is sitting on their front porch handing out candy. It was really fun and we will definitely do it again next year, especially since we bought a house a couple of blocks down in Old Town Georgetown and we are renovating and adding on. But that's another story/post! :) We also took her to the Methodist Church to pick out a pumpkin in their pumpkin patch. She wanted them all but we finally settled on one and let her paint it. She loves to paint and doesn't like ooey gooey hands so we thought that was a better choice this year than to carve one. We had a great Halloween dinner provided by the Turkovics loved seeing Alexander in the cutest "little German boy" costume around!

Cowgirl Sarah

We had Sarah's 2nd birthday party last weekend and celebrated it Western style! We had pony rides, a mini-horse to brush and bunnies to cuddle with. My dad painted cardboard boxes to resemble a Western town where the kids could go in and out and poke their heads through for a picture. Great food, great fun and great company! Thanks to all who came to celebrate! She had SO MUCH fun and watching her smile and laugh the entire time brought so much joy to Jordan and I. It couldn't have been better!

Birthday Girl!

Sarah turned 2 last Thursday and we have been celebrating all week! She TOTALLY understands the whole birthday things..cake, presents..attention. :) Jordan and I were excited to give her a play kitchen ( that took HOURS to put together...ahhh, memories) and she has loved everything that her family and friends sent her way to celebrate. Thank you, thank you everyone! I will add her 2 year stats tomorrow after her doctors appointment. She talks all day and can speak full sentences and ask you questions, etc. She has turned into such a small person! Her favorite things to eat are chicken, rice, beans, bananas, yogurt, corn dogs and caesar salad. She loved caesar salad...cracks us up since it is the only green thing she will eat at the moment. She plays with baby dolls, loves puppets and anything with crayons and paint. She wants to help with everything and says "my turn" when she wants to do something herself. So far there is nothing she can't say or doesn't repeat...like I said, I have a talker. Sarah loves her family and friends and giving everyone hugs. A true social butterfly and pure drama queen. We love you Sarah!

Sarah LOVES to play with Porter! The Ryans came over again this week for a playdate. Carrie and I just sit and giggle as we watch them chase each other, hold hands and enjoy playing with just about anything! We cut out sugar cookies with stamped cookie cutters and then let them "ice" the top. Sarah piled on the icing and quickly inhaled her cookie like someone was going to steal it, while sweet Porter preferred to "spread" the icing on the cookie and possibly his workspace with his hands. Everyone has their special way of participating!

We had a wonderful morning on Wednesday getting to play with sweet Porter Ryan, and his mom, Carrie, and new baby sister, Mary Mae. Sarah and Porter are a little over 6 months apart and really got along well as they shared their toys ( well sometimes) and took turns sliding down the slide into the water. I loved watching them interact and communicate and getting to catch up with Carrie ( as best as we could when we weren't jumping out of our seats to attend to the busy ones).

Girls Night Out

My mom treated Amanda, Sarah and I to a fun evening at the Four Seasons in Austin a couple of weekends ago. It was her Mothers Day present from Dad to do something "spa-like" for herself but she wanted to do something with us...so sweet and generous! Of course, Miss Sarah joined in for the fun...we had to have some entertainment! We got a major upgrade when we arrived to the Congressional Suite which had an enormous balcony overlooking Lady Bird Lake and the bridge to watch the bats. Sarah LOVED every minute especially when they wheeled in a full size crib, bath products and her absolute fav...a stuffed animal...and even better it was a horse. She is obsessed with horses. She quickly named him Nemo. Ok, a horse named Nemo, whatever works. We swam, ate snacks, make up with Tia, and had a wonderful dinner followed by bat watching from our porch. Oh, and they brought her room service ( we had not called, they just do this) consisting of Cheerios, a banana and apple juice...she was pumped. But I think she would have been excited about anything coming in on a tray. Thank you so much Mom for sharing such a fun night with us!

Trip to Destin

We had a wonderful time in Destin, Florida with the Gish family! Sarah enjoyed her first beach experience after a timid start. She did not want to put her feet int he water at all but then got comfortable and all she wanted to do was hop in waves ( oh and direct all of us to "hop" also...thank you Rob and Christin for your willingness to do so!) We enjoyed having brunch in Seaside and walking around seeing the homes and streets. So pretty! Sarah loved Baytowne and feeding the fish too. But I think Sarah's favorite part of the trip was playing with Rob (aka "Rop" to Sarah)!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend minus some cooking setbacks! Our oven decided to quit Saturday afternoon as I was cooking for our brunch we were hosting on Easter Sunday. We were able to borrow our neighbor's oven and everything was great! Yummy food and fun company! The Easter bunny visited Sarah after church on Sunday and I think she enjoyed pulling all of the stickers off of her eggs more than anything! We had an egg hunt with Tia, Ryan, Ben, Lisa and Alex after our brunch and Dylan jumped in to help claim the hard boiled eggs. Way to go D! Sarah LOVES to tell us about the "bunny" and how they "hop"!

18 months!

Sweet Sarah turned 18 months old this past Wednesday! What a memorable 18 months it has been so far! She is a very busy girl who is always trying to learn something new ( sometimes by testing her limits). :)

She loves to talk and is starting to put her words together to communicate pretty well! Way to go Sarah! She has started to pretend play with her dolls and play house. She loves to sing and play all instruments especially her Daddy's guitar and our piano. She can run, climb, spin in a circle and march. Sarah uses her own fork and is trying really hard to be independent with her spoon too.

She LOVES Sesame Street and asks for Elmo and Ernie all day! She has learned to feed Dylan by herself ( with us watching from the sidelines of course) and wants to "feed" him all day...Dylan seems fine with this but we are having to teach her that he only eats twice a day. She helps her Daddy water the garden with the hose and takes her laundry to the laundry room...my favorite!

I am going to list all of the words she knows and how she says them so we can remember it...sorry it is so long...she is a talker!

Horses, Fiesta, and Wedding Bells

All three of which have taken place in the last week....whew!!! It has been a busy one!
We enjoyed a weekend at the Ranch relaxing, eating and learning how to use sunscreen ( that was me..Sarah is a pro already). Sarah enjoyed riding horses with Tia. And when I say riding horses, I mean in a small circle but Sarah thought it was a trail ride and waved to her audience the entire time.

She then had the chance to have a taste of Fiesta at the Battle of Flowers parade, and again has no idea that what she saw was the forming of the parade and the float participants practicing...whatever works ( it was in the shade)! She was dressed in yellow like all of the Battle of Flower ladies and enjoyed seeing Pappy in his Cavalier uniform riding a horse. The second we got in the car she was out cold and sleep hard for a couple of hours. It is hard being Fiesta royalty!

She practiced Easter egg hunting and seemed to enjoy her first taste of a Peep...makes me gag, which Nanny thought was funny. By the way, she eats the ears first off of the bunny. We will see if her practice makes perfect when she hunts eggs next Sunday!

And last but not least, we traveled up to Waco for Saturday morning to celebrate the wedding of Jordan's grandmother. It was so cute and precious! All of the little great grand-kids were scooting up and down the steps during the ceremony and enjoyed throwing out the rose petals...at least Sarah did not eat them! She entertained the entire time and the minute we were in the car to head home she was asleep...seems to be a pattern here.

Austin Children's Museum

Jordan and I took Sarah to visit the Austin Children's Museum on Monday morning for Baby Bloomers, a time when the museum is only open for ages 3 and under with story time and music. Sarah enjoyed watching all of the other kids at first and then finally got comfortable to start playing herself! She liked the green slide, watching the train circle the room, playing with the balls and instruments. We finished off our morning with a burger at Nau's in Austin and went home for a good nap!

I also included some pictures from this weekend when Sarah was helping in the yard and played for the first time in the sprinkler sans pants. :)

Sarah had such a fun weekend! We decided to see how she liked the zoo...she had the same face the whole time. Shocked, in awe, and wasn't sure if the big animals were real! Her favorite animals were in the ducks and fish.

We also had lunch with our family friends, Kathy, Kay and Alice. Sarah and Alice shared crayons and lunch and then had a blast on the playground. Sarah wasn't sure about the sand in her toes but loved following Alice and learning how to do new things!

Sarah LOVED her first rodeo experience last weekend! We first visited the petting zoo and rode on the merry go round. She wasn't scared at all in the petting zoo and I began to "back-up" and try to sit on the goats like she does to Dylan, and during her merry go round ride all she said the whole time was "wee" and waved at the crowd. Sarah wasn't so sure about the laser light show at the beginning of the rodeo but once all of the animals came out it was "moo, moo" the entire time ( cow or horses) :) At the petting zoo she had the chance to sit on a small pony ( which she spotted the moment we got there) which was probably her favorite part of the day. Not scared at all! ( I will try to scan the picture of her on the pony.)

All Sarah requests these days is "ouuut-si" ( outside). So since it was not rainy or horribly cold we had the chance to spend ALL day out there! I decided to let her paint with pudding ( since everything still goes in her mouth) and do some coloring. She loved painting and poor Dylan sat a little too close to the artist and received a new coat of paint himself.

Sarah has enjoyed bundling up to play outside in the cold weather the past couple of weeks! The cold doesn't seem to bother her at all. We opened her new tent from my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Sam to play inside and she loves playing peek-a-boo and taking her books in to read.

Christmas 2010

We had a very busy and wonderful Christmas holiday this year! We spent Christmas weekend at the Ranch with the Nanny and Pappy, Tia and Ryan and the Bakke clan! Sarah loved walking out and to see what Santa had left on Christmas morning...precious.

Ok, so I realize I am not posting any actual pictures of Sarah with the horses but that is all she is interested in at the Ranch! Where are the horses? Can we pet the horses? Do we need to feed the horses? This is exactly what she was asking us all weekend ( in her "own" words of course). I promise to get a picture next time so you can see the largest smile ever when Pappy gets Sarah close to the horses. Precious! I had a great hunt with my Dad ( Pappy) too!

Christmas Stroll

Sarah had a wonderful time at her first parade this past weekend at the Georgetown Christmas Stroll. She loved every minute! We enjoyed shopping through the vendors and Sarah's favorite was petting the animals in the live nativity. I love watching her experience new things! What joy!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Maddox family in San Antonio. We had a yummy dinner at the Buschman house Wednesday night and then spent the next couple days at Jordan's parents' house. Our Thanksgiving meal was delicious and enjoyed watching football and Sarah entertain!

She got 5 shots this morning...poor girl. She was a trooper though! She is sleeping off all of the excitement from this morning and going to have a fun afternoon playing!

We had a fun party for her this past weekend and Sarah enjoyed every minute of it! She loved all of the friends, family and attention...and even liked her cake!

First concert

Sarah went with me to watch Lisa and Alex perform in the Williamson County Orchestra last Friday. She LOVED upbeat music and of course...the people. We were able to enjoy half of the concert sitting in the audience and the other half walking ( and listening) in the lobby. The picture is from right when we left the parking lot to come home...it is hard work to respond every time the audience claps for you...well she thought they were all clapping for her (sorry Lisa and Alex...wonderful job by the way!)

Sorry it has been some time since I updated the blog! We have been busy around here! Jordan and I traveled to Charleston and Savannah for our 5 year anniversary trip, Sarah spent the week in San Antonio, we have been planning her 1st Birthday Party and enjoying the fall weather! Football Fan

Sarah attended her first football game last weekend in Fort Worth at the TCU verses Baylor game! She loved every minute...from the people watching, tailgating, bands and screaming fans ( TCU's). She wore her Daddy's old Baylor jersey from when he was a baby for the first half with "I back the Bears" bloomers that I had made. I will post more pictures of the day when I get them!

11 months!!!

Sarah turned 11 months old yesterday! So many fun things have happened this month:

- Shes WALKING...really well!
- Talking to us constantly ( in her own language) but has a lot to say
- Starting to really like her meals, really likes turkey and cheese
- Hears the word "No" alot and shakes her head when we say it to her
- Chases Dylan everywhere
- Loves animals
- Has 8 teeth
- Loves to share toys and food
- Is starting to dance!

Sarah's first trip to Santa Fe

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Santa Fe with the Maddoxes! Lots of beautiful scenery, shopping, spicy food and cooler weather! Sarah was great on the plane ride, enjoyed shopping in her stroller, learning at the museums and loving on her family. Lots of fun for everyone!

I had to stop everything and come document the sweetest moment for me today. Today is house cleaning day and as I was vacuuming ( it will not surprise you that Sarah LOVES to watch the vacuum) I would stop and smile at Sarah and she loves to smile back at me. I started doing this and making silly faces as I vacuum so when she was really little ( shes still little im aware) that she would not be scared of the vacuum. Well, today everytime I stopped to smile at Sarah she would clap for me. She clapped for me the entire time I cleaned the house and would follow me around to continue to give me encouragement....Way to go Mom! It's the little things that make you feel amazing! What a sweetheart!

Sarah is not much of an eater yet...which confuses me since Jordan and I can clean a plate, but boy did her tiny bit of a meal wear her out the other day. Precious!

This past week Sarah and I along with my parents traveled to Midland, Texas to visit my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Sam. We also went because I wanted Sarah to meet my grandmother, Betsy's, very best friends. I felt this was what my grandmother was telling me to do, and you DO NOT argue with Betsy. Ever.

We had a wonderful time just relaxing, laughing, and telling stories. Sarah was excited to meet the ladies and showed them all of her new (an old) tricks and talents. She loves to entertain! I think her favorite thing was to sit on top of the floor air vent and let the air conditioning blow her hair. Hot natured...runs in the family. Sarah did wonderfully during the car ride to and from Georgetown and that is not a short trip!

9 months

Miss Sarah turned 9 months old on Tuesday! As you can see from previous posts, she is one busy girl.

Weight: 18.85 lbs. (48%)
Height: 27 1/4 in. (40%)
Head Circumference: 43.9 cm. (50%)

- she pushes her toys around (very steady, seems to have strong legs and good balance)
- crawls like a champ
- cruises around a room on all the furniture
- talks to us and her toys ( no"real" words yet)
- gives very distinctive facial expressions
- has said Mama and Dada but we are not sure if she connects everything yet
- opens all drawers, cabinets, etc.
- makes a fish face and smacks her lips
- cries and gives a big lip when we say "No"
- has her 2 bottom teeth, top 2 have broken through and her doctor says she saw more in the back on the way
- will sometimes give kisses with her mouth open
- loves peek-a-boo
- LOVES Dylan
-wants to pick up her own food ( when she feels like it...not much of an eater)
-loves to be turned upside down by her Daddy which makes her laugh
-best of all...growls like a lion with her bottom 2 teeth showing ( I will try to get this on video)
