Sarah's first trip to Santa Fe

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Santa Fe with the Maddoxes! Lots of beautiful scenery, shopping, spicy food and cooler weather! Sarah was great on the plane ride, enjoyed shopping in her stroller, learning at the museums and loving on her family. Lots of fun for everyone!

Determination

Step 1: Knock over trash can and dive for sticky note.

Step 2: Realize that I'm stuck and try to back out.

Encouragement

I had to stop everything and come document the sweetest moment for me today. Today is house cleaning day and as I was vacuuming ( it will not surprise you that Sarah LOVES to watch the vacuum) I would stop and smile at Sarah and she loves to smile back at me. I started doing this and making silly faces as I vacuum so when she was really little ( shes still little im aware) that she would not be scared of the vacuum. Well, today everytime I stopped to smile at Sarah she would clap for me. She clapped for me the entire time I cleaned the house and would follow me around to continue to give me encouragement....Way to go Mom! It's the little things that make you feel amazing! What a sweetheart!

So tired...

Sarah is not much of an eater yet...which confuses me since Jordan and I can clean a plate, but boy did her tiny bit of a meal wear her out the other day. Precious!

All for Betsy...

This past week Sarah and I along with my parents traveled to Midland, Texas to visit my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Sam. We also went because I wanted Sarah to meet my grandmother, Betsy's, very best friends. I felt this was what my grandmother was telling me to do, and you DO NOT argue with Betsy. Ever.

We had a wonderful time just relaxing, laughing, and telling stories. Sarah was excited to meet the ladies and showed them all of her new (an old) tricks and talents. She loves to entertain! I think her favorite thing was to sit on top of the floor air vent and let the air conditioning blow her hair. Hot natured...runs in the family. Sarah did wonderfully during the car ride to and from Georgetown and that is not a short trip!

9 months

Miss Sarah turned 9 months old on Tuesday! As you can see from previous posts, she is one busy girl.

Weight: 18.85 lbs. (48%)
Height: 27 1/4 in. (40%)
Head Circumference: 43.9 cm. (50%)

- she pushes her toys around (very steady, seems to have strong legs and good balance)
- crawls like a champ
- cruises around a room on all the furniture
- talks to us and her toys ( no"real" words yet)
- gives very distinctive facial expressions
- has said Mama and Dada but we are not sure if she connects everything yet
- opens all drawers, cabinets, etc.
- makes a fish face and smacks her lips
- cries and gives a big lip when we say "No"
- has her 2 bottom teeth, top 2 have broken through and her doctor says she saw more in the back on the way
- will sometimes give kisses with her mouth open
- loves peek-a-boo
- LOVES Dylan
-wants to pick up her own food ( when she feels like it...not much of an eater)
-loves to be turned upside down by her Daddy which makes her laugh
-best of all...growls like a lion with her bottom 2 teeth showing ( I will try to get this on video)
