All for Betsy...

This past week Sarah and I along with my parents traveled to Midland, Texas to visit my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Sam. We also went because I wanted Sarah to meet my grandmother, Betsy's, very best friends. I felt this was what my grandmother was telling me to do, and you DO NOT argue with Betsy. Ever.

We had a wonderful time just relaxing, laughing, and telling stories. Sarah was excited to meet the ladies and showed them all of her new (an old) tricks and talents. She loves to entertain! I think her favorite thing was to sit on top of the floor air vent and let the air conditioning blow her hair. Hot natured...runs in the family. Sarah did wonderfully during the car ride to and from Georgetown and that is not a short trip!

9 months

Miss Sarah turned 9 months old on Tuesday! As you can see from previous posts, she is one busy girl.

Weight: 18.85 lbs. (48%)
Height: 27 1/4 in. (40%)
Head Circumference: 43.9 cm. (50%)

- she pushes her toys around (very steady, seems to have strong legs and good balance)
- crawls like a champ
- cruises around a room on all the furniture
- talks to us and her toys ( no"real" words yet)
- gives very distinctive facial expressions
- has said Mama and Dada but we are not sure if she connects everything yet
- opens all drawers, cabinets, etc.
- makes a fish face and smacks her lips
- cries and gives a big lip when we say "No"
- has her 2 bottom teeth, top 2 have broken through and her doctor says she saw more in the back on the way
- will sometimes give kisses with her mouth open
- loves peek-a-boo
- LOVES Dylan
-wants to pick up her own food ( when she feels like it...not much of an eater)
-loves to be turned upside down by her Daddy which makes her laugh
-best of all...growls like a lion with her bottom 2 teeth showing ( I will try to get this on video)

Up and Walking!

Walking with a little assistance that is....

We enjoyed a fun weekend at the Ranch with Nanny, Pappy, Tia and Uncle Ryan. Sarah decided that she was going to push and walk with her toys all by herself! She can't get enough of it and it is all she wants to do! It was pretty hot so we played indoors, enjoyed the pool and of course ate very well! And as you can see from the pictures..she ready to travel...thank you Nanny. I can't believe she will be 9 months tomorrow....updates to follow!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful July 4th with a backyard BBQ with Tia and Uncle Ryan! We enjoyed a great meal, playing with Sarah and the Georgetown fireworks...not to mention "Smashies" for dessert! Yum! When Amanda and Ryan arrived they were so excited to see Sarah and she wasn't ready for all the "excitement" ( see result in the picture above). She finally warmed up and loved riding on Uncle Ryan's shoulders and being pushed in her swing. I know the following pictures make me look like a "irresponsible" parent however, she grabbed the toothpick from me and each picture was taken with me quickly removing my hand. I DID NOT let her play with a toothpick by herself...promise!

More Ranch fun!

Relaxing at the Ranch

Sarah and I had the chance to spend a little time at the Ranch this past weekend. She loved driving the truck with Pappy, swinging outside and swimming in the pool...then again she enjoys just about anything! What a good girl! She could have driven around the Ranch all day if we let her and yes, she put her hands on the wheel all by herself and stood in our laps to watch the road. I'm not sure how she has figured this out since she still faces backwards in my car.

8 months plus and into everything!

I am a bit tardy on the 8 month blog post but here are a few of Sarah's favorite things and what she is up to:
- crawls very well...everywhere and into everything
- pulls herself up with ease and teases us by holding on with one hand
- babbles all day and excepts us to understand her
- is not into baby food all that much but really enjoys picking up cereal with her fingers...im sure someday she will like food
- chases Dylan and climbs all over him
- loves to look out windows
